| So this past week has officially been labeled the worst week of January.. I would like to say the worst week of the year, but there's still about 11 more months left...Death, bad grades, falling outs, tests, deadlines.. what else could happen?
Good news-- I got accepted to 2 out of the 6 schools I applied to (Loyola-Chicago and Valparaiso U.). They're not my first choices, but it's a relief to know i'll be attending some college next fall. Duke, BC, Dartmouth and Loyola-MD won't arrive till early April so I guess I have to sit here and twiddle my thumbs.
This would be a good time to write out all my new year's resolutions, goals, what I've learned this past year, etc. but I think i'll save that for next time.
BTW-- Happy BELATED Birthday Vianna!!! I know this is really late, but i haven't exactly been on the ball lately. Anywho, I'm sorry I couldn't make it to your cotillion... family matters couldn't be helped. Just want to say that you've blossomed into a beautiful young woman and I hope life brings you all the the joy and success you want. Miss you lots!!!
In loving memory of Mrs. Mann. May her soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed REST IN PEACE.
| Yea i know.. long time no post.
Today started out really shitty -- extremely shitty to say the least. First I woke up at around 4:30 in the morning with a splitting headache. I don't know what's wrong with me -- i've been getting these headaches in the morning right when I wake up. This has never happened to me before. So i have this splitting headache and then a couple hours later i start throwing up in the bathroom. Stupid boxed lasagna. No more packaged foods for me... I must have slept till about 12pm, but it didn't help much because I still had a headache. So then I get this wonderful call from my girls at school! :) You gals don't know how happy you make me!!! :) Let's just say I feel a thousand times better than I did this morning... this news was absolutely amazing! Ok so i still have about 10 more letters to write so i better go.
| So a lot has been happening in my life lately... i'll start with Monday.
Monday was a busy busy day just because I spent the whole day -- from 9am to 6:43pm -- working on my two papers for Dumbach. Of course I did other stuff in between... which is probably why it took me that long to write two 2 page papers. I went to the doctor around 3pm for my skin problem. Funny how a visit to the doctor can be a major reality check. Needless to say, I've been coping with a lot of shit these last few months and it isn't good... So then I got home and worked on my paper more until around 6:40 and left the house at 6:45 to go to my meeting..damn those stupid dumbach meetings. No fun at all.
Tuesday and Wednesday were more relaxing days. I think my mom went on this appointment-making binge because I've been to about 3 or 4 appointments in the last week alone. She set up appointments with the orthodontist, the dentist and the reg. doctor... They weren't too bad tho.. had to have my yearly check-ups. The rest of the time was spent reading my summer reading books, which BTW I still haven't finished.
I started school on Thursday and it wasn't at all what I expected. The day starts out with A.P. psychology and is probably going to be boring... My teacher has us sitting in alpha order so let me just say that i'm not too pleased with who I'm sitting next to... Good thing is that Clare, Val, Jamie, and Fatima are in my class. :) Next is Theology Quest which doesn't seem that bad but I think it'll take a few more classes to tell. Then I have World Lit with Mr. Gombac and he's a pretty cool teacher to say the least. Bad thing is we've been stuck on these damn poems the last two days and I hate poetry. 4th period is lunch and then I have pre-calc. I actually like this class, aside from the teacher and the material, just because of all the ppls in the class. Mark, Caroline, Val, Meg, Jen, Clare, Stacey... nuff said. AP Spanish and AP poli sci are probably my most fun classes. They go by really fast -- especially poli sci. Lots of fun ppl in those classes -- Mark, Michelle, Alex, Murphy, Tricia... :) :) Good times.. Anyways, the day was sort of surreal because it didn't really feel like I was actually a senior.. Maybe i'm just not ready for school yet. The amount of work I have ahead of me hasn't set in yet but I think come Monday it will and I'll be a total basket case. Here come's the stress...

These are just pics I found on my computer... the first one was taken at Duke, the second was my fifth period lunch table junior year, third is of me and 3 of my best friends -- michelle, stace and jenn -- and the last is a crew picture taken sophomore year at our end of the season banquet.
| So i finally got my pics developed and scanned them all. I still have more to develop... the ones below are mostly of bethany's little bday party.. I'll be adding more in a couple of days.
My little bro and cousin came back from Puerto Rico today. It's nice having them home.. I have to admit I did miss my little brother. My big bro is coming on Sunday so then the whole family will be together once again. How exciting!
We finally went out to my favorite Japanese restaurant -- Midori. So far, it's the only authentic japanese restaurant I've eaten at in the U.S. Most of the others (like Benihana's or Ron of Japan) are very americanized (and EXPENSIVE!) and just not good.. Maybe you're wondering how the hell I know what authentic Japanese food tastes like when I've never been to Japan, but I'm from Guam and if any place has authentic japanese food other than japan, that place is Guam.
OHH!! I finally finished reading Midaq Alley today and only have 3 more books to read. Be proud!
